Another session in Anniston

I say I went to Anniston, but it's really Weaver, Al. I just wanted to clarify so my brother and his friends and family wouldn't feel misrepresented.
Anyway, on to the meat and potatoes of this post. Some good friends of my brother's, the Hollands, commissioned me to take some pics of their boys. The location was a beautiful old stone church. It had these wonderful arched walkways and neat sitting areas. It was a perfect place for a photo session. Here are just a few from that day.

Thanks Jared and Kelli for a wonderful afternoon session. Your boys are precious!!

A Session at the University

A couple of weekends ago I went to visit my brother and his family in Anniston. While I was there I did a session with his boys, my nephews, at Jacksonville St. University where he teaches. They have a beautiful campus there. I've come to realize, too, that you love the pictures more if you love the place where they are taken. Makes sense, huh!

Harrison is possibly the sweetest boy on the face of the earth. He's just special that way.

Jack is pretty special himself. His dimples are his most used feature.

Together they make a pretty handsome pair.

I love, love, loved finally getting to do a session with my nephews. Thank you Jordan and Susan for letting me and my kids invade your house for the weekend. Love you guys!!

Here we go!!!

This is my very first post on my brand-spankin' new photography blog. I'm so excited to share what I love with all my family, friends, and clients and I thought blogging would be the best and easiest way for me to do just that.

The past few months I've finally taken the plunge and started taking pictures for someone other than myself. I'll be honest...I was scared to death!!

What if they don't like the final product?

What if I show them 25 proofs and they can't find a single one they like?

What if I pick up my camera and lose all my senses and can't remember how to turn it on?

What if, what if, what if...

I threw caution to the wind and started booking clients. Some of the first were the Smith family. Granted, they are part of our family, but that didn't make it any less scary. They have a 14mth old and a brand new baby. The pressure was on!

Lila...the doll. She is so cute and dainty. She made me miss my Katie being that small. She made look forward to my Ava being that age.

Her Daddy was leading her back to me and it was just the sweetest thing. Too sweet to not capture.

Then there is baby Clay...sweet baby Clay. He made me want another baby tomorrow. Then I came to my senses and realized that I already have three.

He is precious, though.

All in all, it was a very successful day. I got some great shots and a chance to hold and chase some precious children. I got to spend an hour or so doing what I love.
