A Girl and her Dog...

I worked with Jennifer at Kroger when I was in high school. She is one of the nicest people I know. She emailed me a couple of weeks ago and asked me to do a session with her and her puppy. Jack is her Boxer and he is perfect. His face is just too cute. But I do have to say i was a little offended by Jack. I had never done a session with a pet before and wanted to be prepared. I brought a baggie full of dog treats...brilliant, right?? Only brilliant if Jack isn't a food snob and likes the treats. Turns out that even if he didn't like the treats, we didn't need the anyway. He was great!!
This has got to be one of my favorite prints, yet.

The ears make the photo. He looks so secure in his manhood.

Jennifer, you are a gorgeous girl! Thanks so much for letting me do a session with you and Jack! I had so much fun!!!

Family

My Aunt Sandra is my favorite aunt...well, she's my only aunt. But if she wasn't my only aunt, she would still be my favorite. She has four beautiful grandchildren and I took their picture so she could have Christmas cards this year.

Lydia makes me smile every time she walks into the room.

Grayson acts looks like his Uncle Tommy and acts like his Mom.

Ian and Noah are two of the prettiest little boys I have ever seen and two of the fastest.

Together they make a nice looking little bunch.

One crazy bunch!!

I love little boys! They are so much fun and these two brothers were no exception.

I'm sure that I don't even want to know what was said to make everyone laugh like this.

Thanks guys!! I hope you like them!!

Pictures with the Pattens

Jeannie and I have known each other for a long time. I knew her before I knew her. She and I were in Mrs Harper's 1st grade class together. I can remember looking at our class picture wondering what ever happened to the girl in the pink, fluffy dress. She moved away that year.  Years later, she and I would end up working together. It's a VERY small world!!

I did a session with her and her beautiful family at an old covered bridge on Green Mtn.
Jeannie and Jon are two of the funniest people I know.

They have two gorgeous daughters...Whitney

& Jenna

And Jon is an awesome assistant! This picture was his idea and look how cute it turned out. :)

Another day in Mooresville

The weather in Alabama is never predictable. Last Saturday the high was 52...yes 52! I had a session with two little boys that were such good sports. I made them walk all over historic Mooresville so I could take their picture.
This little boy is the spitting image of his Dad and Grandad.

They just look like they are going to get into some trouble.

This was one of my favorite from the session. There is nothing sweeter than a boy that loves his Momma.

Thanks Lindsey and Martha! I had fun, even if it was 52 degrees outside!!

Pictures with the Smiths

My crazy friend, Tabitha, and I have been trying to get our schedules and the weather to work out for a session since September. It finally happened this weekend. I had an opening and she took it. Her two boys, Cody and Wyatt, were so fun to shoot. They laughed and cut-up just like little boys do. They were all smiles, all day! Just the way I like them!!

Let's talk Baby...

I have a dear friend that just had a baby. Her baby makes me want another baby. That and the fact that my last baby just turned one, but that's a whole other story. Melissa and Jason are an adorable couple and lets face it...
they can make one pretty baby girl. Miss Lily Paige is absolutely precious!

She gave me a run for my money when I was trying to pose her. She does NOT like to be on her stomach and only put those precious hands where she wanted them.
She has a head full of soft hair. I love babies with this much hair.
And I love a baby's soft little feet. Baby toes are to die for!!
I had so much fun shooting Lily's baby pictures. She is adorable, Melissa and Jason.
Congratulations to the both of you!!

Another session in Anniston

I say I went to Anniston, but it's really Weaver, Al. I just wanted to clarify so my brother and his friends and family wouldn't feel misrepresented.
Anyway, on to the meat and potatoes of this post. Some good friends of my brother's, the Hollands, commissioned me to take some pics of their boys. The location was a beautiful old stone church. It had these wonderful arched walkways and neat sitting areas. It was a perfect place for a photo session. Here are just a few from that day.

Thanks Jared and Kelli for a wonderful afternoon session. Your boys are precious!!

A Session at the University

A couple of weekends ago I went to visit my brother and his family in Anniston. While I was there I did a session with his boys, my nephews, at Jacksonville St. University where he teaches. They have a beautiful campus there. I've come to realize, too, that you love the pictures more if you love the place where they are taken. Makes sense, huh!

Harrison is possibly the sweetest boy on the face of the earth. He's just special that way.

Jack is pretty special himself. His dimples are his most used feature.

Together they make a pretty handsome pair.

I love, love, loved finally getting to do a session with my nephews. Thank you Jordan and Susan for letting me and my kids invade your house for the weekend. Love you guys!!

Here we go!!!

This is my very first post on my brand-spankin' new photography blog. I'm so excited to share what I love with all my family, friends, and clients and I thought blogging would be the best and easiest way for me to do just that.

The past few months I've finally taken the plunge and started taking pictures for someone other than myself. I'll be honest...I was scared to death!!

What if they don't like the final product?

What if I show them 25 proofs and they can't find a single one they like?

What if I pick up my camera and lose all my senses and can't remember how to turn it on?

What if, what if, what if...

I threw caution to the wind and started booking clients. Some of the first were the Smith family. Granted, they are part of our family, but that didn't make it any less scary. They have a 14mth old and a brand new baby. The pressure was on!

Lila...the doll. She is so cute and dainty. She made me miss my Katie being that small. She made look forward to my Ava being that age.

Her Daddy was leading her back to me and it was just the sweetest thing. Too sweet to not capture.

Then there is baby Clay...sweet baby Clay. He made me want another baby tomorrow. Then I came to my senses and realized that I already have three.

He is precious, though.

All in all, it was a very successful day. I got some great shots and a chance to hold and chase some precious children. I got to spend an hour or so doing what I love.
